Yacht Refit Works in Greece – Yachting Awards

 In Business, Design

We have also referred in the past to the excellent facilities at the Perama shipyards (wider Piraeus area).

Across its coastal stretch of abt 1-mile, a yacht captain can find several yards and numerous facilities packed giving him a wide range of services and choices.

The list with the well reputed mega yachts refitted in Perama area is long. Greece is a very favourable location for yacht painting jobs with its ideal weather and humidity conditions to achieve results with a minimum use of technical means. Combined with the expertise and flexibility to work under strict criteria and timelines, a project manager reduce significantly the project’s costs. For crew there are other important benefits such as the flight connections and the social life of a metropolis like Athens and the many opportunities for cultural and outdoor experiences that Greece offers year round.

Perama shall be at the top of the list when comparing alternatives for the yacht winter works or refits in Med.

VIPA Business Park

In less than a 10 min drive from Perama shipyards, a whole hill has been transformed to the VIPA Business Park. VIPA is an industrial park, with some of the most advanced workshops, ready to support Captains and Managers with their repairs and refit projects. These companies are specialized in all mechanical, electrical, refrigeration, carpentry, rolling, tubing, metallurgy, shipbuilding are amongst the specialised repair works that can be carried out here. It is not a secret that they have supported for many decades the biggest ships worldwide and some are already 2nd and 3rd generation workshops and specialists.

Last, but equal important, it is of a great satisfaction that we see many Greek designers and naval technical bureaus getting more and more recognition for their excellent work
